How your finance application works

  1. 1

    Tell CarMoney about you

A short online form — around two minutes. Getting a quote does not affect your credit score.

  2. 2

    They search their lender panel

CarMoney Limited is a credit broker, not a lender. They look for finance options that suit your circumstances from the lenders they work with.

  3. 3

    Review your quote

You see the rate and the monthly payment before you decide anything. Approval is never guaranteed — it always depends on the lender’s assessment.

  4. 4

    Choose your car and sign

Happy with the quote? Pick your car from our stock, complete the agreement, then collect it or have it delivered.

Eligibility

Finance is subject to status. Eligibility depends on factors including your age, UK residency, income and credit history, plus the vehicle and the lender's criteria. Approval is never guaranteed — an estimate or quote is not an offer of finance.

Finance type

A larger deposit lowers your monthly payment. The deposit can't exceed the cash price.

Only enter the amount you expect to put toward the car after any outstanding finance on your part exchange is settled.

Move the slider to explore different rates. The actual rate you're offered depends on the lender and your circumstances.

Choose a vehicle or enter a cash price to see an illustrative monthly payment.

Ways to spread the cost

Three common routes to car finance. We'll explain which could suit you — the choice always stays yours.

Hire Purchase

Spread the financed amount across fixed monthly repayments. Once all required payments have been made, you own the car. Because HP normally repays more of the vehicle price during the agreement than PCP, the monthly payment can be higher.

Learn about HP

Personal Contract Purchase

PCP can reduce the monthly payment by leaving an optional final payment at the end. You can choose to pay that amount to keep the vehicle or follow the options provided under your agreement. Mileage and condition requirements may apply if the vehicle is returned.

Learn about PCP

Personal Loan

A personal loan is separate borrowing used to buy the vehicle. You normally own the car from purchase and repay the lender over the agreed term. Eligibility and rates depend on the lender and your circumstances.

Learn about Personal Loans

HP vs PCP, in plain English

Both spread the cost of a car over an agreed term. The main difference is what happens at the end.

Hire Purchase (HP)

Deposit
Fixed monthly payments
Own it

Repay the full amount across the term — then the car is yours.

Personal Contract Purchase (PCP)

Deposit
Lower monthly
Optional final payment

Lower monthly payments, then choose to keep, return or part exchange the car.

Monthly payments
Usually higher — you repay the full financed amount across the term.
Usually lower — an optional final payment is left until the end.
At the end
The car is yours once all payments are made. Nothing more to decide.
You choose: pay the optional final payment to keep it, return it, or part exchange it.
Mileage & condition
No agreed mileage limit — the car is yours, so you drive it as you like.
An annual mileage is agreed at the start, and condition rules apply if you return the car.
Best suited to
People who want to own the car and keep it long term.
People who want lower monthly payments or like changing cars every few years.
